Fun in the 'Corn Box'
Welcome to the Meuer Farm web site! The Meuer Farm is a 150 acre, beef cow/calf farm, strawberry farm and corn maze operated by 4 th generation farmers, David & Leslie Meuer. We are located 1/2 mile North of Brothertown and 10 miles west of Chilton, in Calumet County, WI. 16 miles north of Fond du Lac and 16 miles south of Appleton. 30 miles west of Manitowoc, 45 miles south of Green Bay and 1 1/2 hours north of Milwaukee.
The 10 acre corn maze, hayrides, and activity area were very popular in 2012. We will be doing it again in 2013 along with lots of other activities planned for the year. Everybody knows the happiest cows around are grazing in Wisconsin !!!!!
The beef cows and their calves are usually out grazing the hills and valleys here on the Meuer Farm from April till October. This year is no exception. These are some of the cows and pasture you will see on the hayrides that take place here on the Meuer farm. Hayrides take place during the "MAZE" season, and on special weekends. We also do hayrides by special request!

Febuary 9 We will be at the Maywood Local Food For Global Thought Fair in Sheboygan with the Kettle corn set-up, honey and Golden Maple Root Beer for sale. This is held at the Ellwood H. May Environmental Park from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Go to their web site: www.GoMaywood.org for more info!!!
Last week in Feb or First week in March This is the time when the maple syrup harvest begins on the Meuer farm. The maple syrup season is called the first harvest of the season every year. The public is welcome to stop out and watch the boiling process, and to taste and purchase some fresh maple syrup.
March 2 Find us at the 2013 Fond du Lac Agriculture Showcase held at the Fond du Lac Co. fairgrounds from 8:30 am to 3 pm. We will have our honey, maple syrup, Kettle Corn, Golden Maple Root Beer and will have flyers available for the Maple syrup/pancake breakfast to be held the following Sunday here at the farm!! March 8th or 9th. you choose. Maple syrup clinic here at the farm. This is a " hands on clinic". See top of page to register, and keep in mind, space is limited for this class.
March 10 2nd Annual Maple Syrup/Pancake Breakfast at Meuer Farm!! All proceeds go to benefit the Chilton FFA youth organization. The pancake breakfast is from 10:00am to 2:00 pm with fresh maple syrup. Tours of the Maple Syrup Shed will be available and maple syrup will be for sale.
Event will be held, Rain or Shine!! Tram running from the heated building to the syrup shed for tours!

March 17 Come on out to the Elwood H. May Environmental Park in Sheboygan for their Flapjack breakfast, and to watch the maple syrup process. We will have the Kettle Corn set-up there all day . We will have Golden Maple Root Beer, and our honey along as well!! www.GoMaywood.org for more info!!
March 21 We will be at the 8th. Annual 2013 Lakeshore Women's Expo from 3 pm to 7 pm. You can stop by, and purchase our real maple syrup, kettle corn, raw honey and Golden Maple Root Beer. And check out the new 2013 brochures for the farm. See you there!!
April 20 The Kettle corn set-up, maple syrup and raw honey will be at the Tri-County Arena in Neenah for the Hobbies of the World Expo from 10 - 5 that day.
May 4 You will find us at the Natural Product & Organic Food Expo at the Sunny View Expo Center in Oshkosh from 10 - 5 that day. Fresh kettle corn, (regular and cinnamon flavored) along with raw honey, maple syrup from our farm, and maybe fresh watercress from the farm as well. depending on the weather.
May 18-19 Fiber Facets - Art Fair on the Farm is where we will be these 2 days. The event is located at Bleating Heart Haven Farm, New Holstein. Kettle corn, raw honey and maple syrup we will have along that day, along with the Golden Maple Root Beer!
Early to Mid June Strawberry picking is open. Watch for exact dates and times. Check the progress of the strawberry crop on our strawberry page and call the Meuer Farm Strawberry phone number @ (920) 418-2676.
July 4th Its a busy day for us!! Our hay ride wagon will be in the 4th. of July Parades in Oshkosh and in Omro. The Kettle Corn set-up will be in Manitowoc that day from 10 - 5 at the Red, White and Blue Rendezvous on the River held on the lakefront next to the Maritime Museum. Come see the 3 masted schooner "Denis Sullivan" and join in on the many activities. Kettle corn, honey and maple syrup with Golden Maple root beer to wash it all down

One of the most exciting times on our farm is giving fieldtrips. We have fieldtrip packages available for day cares and school children of all ages. Fieldtrips are available most times of the year, but the most exciting time is during the time that the maze is open. We have fieldtrips available if you want to bring your whole school, or certain grades, or just your class. Such as a science, biology or agriculture class. What better place to learn about science, biology, forestry or soil and water conservation than on a real working farm. we continue to offer low prices for school fieldtrips due to the cutbacks in school budgets. This is my way to give back to the community by trying to introduce and educate children about agriculture and food production. All fieldtrips are handicap accessible. Most groups spend 2 -4 hours here for a fieldtrip. You are welcome to spend all day or make your fieldtrip as short as needed to fit your schedule.
Our fieldtrips through the maze include the following:
- Movies to introduce children to dairy and corn production, and how the corn maze is created. (1/2 hour)
- An educational hayride around the property. (45 minutes)
- Travelling through one phase of the corn maze. (30 minutes)
- Access to the activity area. (as long as you want)
- Area provided to eat your lunch. (inside or outside)
- Bring bag lunches (get your milk here) or place you food order upon arriveal and it will be ready.
- An activity book, a free pumpkin, gourd or cob of Indian corn to take home in the bag we provide.
- A pass to come back to the corn maze in the future. (Free with a paid adult)
The Prices for our Fieldtrip Package are:
$3.50/ child Pre-K thru 8th. Grade
$5.00/ Child Grades 9 thru 12.
Every group requires one teacher or chaperone for every 6-7 children. For teachers and chaperones that are required, their admission is free. For extra adults that want to come along, that is fine and we encourage it, but their price is $7.00/ person. Children and parents should bring some spending money along. There are special reduced prices for school kids to shoot the corn cannons and slingshots. Parents, children or chaperones are welcome to purchase fall and halloween decor for decorating their schools or homes. A 10 person minimum is required for the fieldtrips.
Fieldtrips during the maze in 2013 will begin on Sept. 3, 2013 and run thru Nov. 8,2013. It is best to call or e-mail us as soon as you have a date picked out to reserve your date and time. We need to know your date, arrival time, contact person and phone number, how many students, your departure time and your plans for lunch. Even with as much rain as we had in 2009, there were no fieldtrip cancellations due to weather. The program in the main building is inside a heated building. The farm animal area is inside as is the straw fort.. The duck races and corn box have roofs over them and lunch will be inside. There are other inside activities such as movies, pumpkin carving and pumpkin decorating that can be done in adverse weather.

Even though our address is Chilton, WI. we are actually 10 miles west of Chilton on Hwy. 151, about 1/2 mile north of Brothertown (See map below), along the easter shores of Lake Winnebago. We are located on the east side of the highway and have a long driveway with a large sign by the road!
COMING FROM THE NORTH:
If you are coming from the Fox Cities on Hwy. 55/114. When Hwy. 55 ends at the junction of Highway 151. Take Hwy. 151 towards Fond du Lac. I am only one mile from the Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 151 intersection. On the left side of the road. Coming from Green Bay. Follow Hwy. 57 into Chilton. Take a right onto Hwy. 151 at the first stop and go light in Chilton. Go 9 miles west of Chilton on Hwy. 151. Turn left at the stop sign at the bottom of the big hill. Go one mile, I am on your left. You can come from the north on Hwy. 41 and get off at the Hwy. 55 exit at Kaukauna. Just follow Hwy. 55 thru Kaukauna and go till Hwy. 55 ends.
COMING FROM THE SOUTH:
Follow Hwy. 151 north of Fond du Lac. We are 20 minutes north of Fond du Lac, just 1/2 mile north of Brothertown on the right side of the road.
If you come from Milwaukee, take Hwy. 41 north to Fond du Lac. Get off on the the Hwy. 151 North exit (Exit 95) and go 19 miles. Again I will be on your right just north of Brothertown.
COMING FROM THE EAST:
From Manitowoc, just follow Hwy. 151 thru Chilton and then go 9 miles west of Chilton on Hwy. 151 and turn left at the bottom of the big hill, go one mile and I am on your left.
Coming from Sheboygan, Plymouth or Kiel. Follow Hwy. 57 to New Holstein. Take county road H west out of new Holstein towards Brothertown, (11 miles). When you come to the stop sign in Brothertown, turn right onto Hwy. 151. Go 1/2 mile and I am on your right.
COMING FROM THE NORTH:
If you are coming from the Fox Cities on Hwy. 55/114. When Hwy. 55 ends at the junction of Highway 151. Take Hwy. 151 towards Fond du Lac.
