Movie and TV Area

Picture
Movie and TV area
Our main building is where all of our field-trip groups start out.   Named the "America's Dairyland Learning Center" , here they watch movies and listen to a story about  dairy farming and it's history in the state .  They then learn about the  corn maze and how it was created here on the farm.
There is a 50"  large screen TV with surround sound.  We can show movies,  play CD's and we have a microphone available for meetings. It's an excellent venue  for holding  birthday parties, other parties and corporate team building events!  On Sundays we have the Green bay Packers games on for all to sit and enjoy.  The indoor food stand is located just to the right of the TV area.  You can go from your seat right to the food counter and back without having to go outside.  We have hot chocolate and hot apple cider available for those cool fall days and nights along with all kinds of food from pizza to hamburgers and brats to nachos and BBQ pork sandwiches.

 Lots of Fall Decor !

Picture
Gourds,squash,Indian corn & Straw bales
Here at the Meuer Farm,  near Brothertown,  we grow all the fall decor items that you need!
Acorn and Butternut squash, gourds of all shapes, straw bales (small and mini too), corn stalks and ears of  Indian corn.  Mums, pansies and other fall flowers are offered as well.   Everything is on display and for sale in our main building.  Remember to get your  pictures taken in the photo area in the corners of the main building!  There is seating on straw bales and you are surrounded by pumpkins, corn and gourds.   If there is maple syrup left for sale,  it is in the main building right behind the check-out counter. The honey harvest will be ready for sale in August.  Watch  for it!!

Pumpkins of All Sorts

Picture
Pumpkins, large and small, plain and warted
We grow all sizes and kinds of pumpkins here on our farm.  Small mini-pumpkins, medium pumpkins, pie pumpkins, and the new warted pumpkins. There are lots of pumpkins for Jack-O-Lanterns and carving.   While we do have a large pumpkin patch, we normally harvest the pumpkins and clean them before offering them for sale.  You can pick your own pumpkin from the patch if you wish, but be prepared to clean it off !  The dew forms on the outside of the pumpkin each night and runs down to the bottom of the pumpkin.  This creates mud where the ground and the pumpkin meet.  So even if it has not rained in awhile, the pumpkins will still be muddy from the dew each night.   Need a recipe on how to make a pumpkin pie from a fresh pumpkin?  Go to http://www.pickyourown.org/pumpkinpie.php.  This year we will have some blue pumpkins and other interesting ones as well!

Pumpkin and squash planting,  2011

Picture
Pumpkin planting
As you can see, pumpkin planting is a team effort.  It takes 5 people to get it done and we have to move at a snail's pace.  At least we are planting 3 rows at a time!

Wildlife on the Meuer Farm!  All year long!!!

Picture
Take a look at this Big Boy. Look at that spread.
As you can see from our "wildlife cam", there are plenty of deer here on the Meuer farm.  Some pretty good size deer too! No hunting!  We have the "wildlife cam" out taking photos all winter long and post some on our web site.  The flock of 30  wild turkeys that call our farm home are also pictured here .  Enjoy!!!!
